What is your wedding background?

I’ve been photographing weddings since 2011 and decided to take my business full time at the beginning of 2016. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph weddings across North America and abroad, working hundreds of weddings and documenting over twenty different cultures. Serving in an industry that values both trend and tradition has made for a colorful career.

What are your core business values?

Honesty, integrity, kindness. In my life and work, both my word and the pursuit of excellence means everything to me. My business values wholly align with my core values as a person. I know that I can’t be everything to everyone. But I can be trustworthy! I believe that mutual trust is required in order to create beautiful, joyful imagery.

Do you offer film add ons?

Yes! I've been photographing on film since 1999, so it's quite literally my first love! Film add ons range from $100 - $400 per hour of coverage. Ask about adding 35mm or medium format scans to your gallery. I also offer Super8 films as an add on or à la carte!

Do you charge Travel fees? What’s the fine print?

Most Southern California locations are included in the Wedding Collection price. For Portrait and Engagement bookings, a travel fee of 50 cents per mile will be added to the proposal. Additional charges may include permit or location fees. If you’re getting married outside of Southern California, I aim to travel at cost. After booking, you will receive an invoice(s) to complete separate from your wedding contract that will include transportation (be it airfare, 50 cents per driven mile, uber or rental car fees, etc) lodging and per diem. Price shopping is a priority to me. I’m thankful for all the places my work takes me and my goal is to make it as accessible as possible for my clients. No sales tax will be added to the total of any bookings.

How long is the engagement session? When and where does it take place?

Your engagement session will start 90 minutes prior to sunset and will last 60-90 minutes. You can schedule it as close to booking or as close to your wedding date as you want! In peak wedding season, I don’t have availability for weekend sessions. So if you’re wanting to have your engagement session on a weekend, I suggest setting a date well in advance. As for location, we will brainstorm together and come up with the perfect spot to match the feel you're going for!

How would you describe your photography style?

Timeless storytelling. I aim to create effortless imagery that embodies nostalgia and lighthearted romance. Honest color palettes and sun drenched scenes inspire me. My hope is that my work will tell a true story and invoke deep emotion.

How do you pose your subjects?

While stolen glances, watering eyes and guests connecting are some of my favorite wedding day moments, formal portraits have their place. Family formals are unique to each wedding, but they should always be fun and efficient! We’ll talk in depth about this process leading up to your day to ensure that we’re on the same wavelength. As for posing couples, my goal is always to make you feel comfortable and confident. We’ll find the softest light and I’ll direct you through the moment as we get out of our heads and into the moment. We’ll make effortless and organic images and pure memories!

How do we book? Can you summarize the process?

For weddings, I often schedule a phone consult where we can get into all the specifics of your day. If you’re ready to move forward, I will email you a proposal. A 30% retainer is required to secure your wedding date and the remainder is due one month prior to your wedding. Most of my couples prefer to pay via credit card!
